Meritor® Announces Complete Drivetrain Solution for Mack Defense’s M917A3 Heavy Dump Truck for U.S. Army

TROY, Mich. (Feb. 14, 2019)  ̶  Meritor, Inc. (NYSE: MTOR) today announced it  has been selected to equip Mack Defense’s new heavy-duty dump trucks for the United States Army with a comprehensive drivetrain solution from Meritor including its MX810 front drive steer axle, transfer case, ProTec™ Series 50 tridem drive beam axles and Permalube RPL Series drivelines. The Mack Granite® armored and armor-capable dump trucks are scheduled to be delivered to the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers through 2025.

Hendrickson And Mack Defense Partner To Win U.S. Army Heavy Dump Truck Suspension Contract

WOODRIDGE, IL & ALLENTOWN, PA – Hendrickson, and Mack Defense, LLC, announced they have received a contract award from the U.S. Army for PRIMAAX® EX suspension systems on all new Mack Granite®armored and armor-capable dump trucks. Bids were submitted beginning in June 2017 and production will continue through May 18, 2025.

The PRIMAAX® EX suspension system provides a rugged, weight efficient design that delivers advanced suspension technology for the rigorous demands of the military applications. The system features a robust structural design with optimized suspension geometry for exceptional stability, handling and equipment protection. Paired with the Mack Defense armored and armor-capable dump trucks, the vehicles will fully support the U.S. Army’s requirement for dependability and reduced cost of ownership. The vehicles will support mobility, counter mobility, survivability and sustainment operations for the Joint Forces as they work in areas of the world with austere infrastructures and little or no host nation support.

Mack Defense partners with JWF in Johnstown, PA for Lakota production

ALLENTOWN, Pa., June 6 (UPI) Mack Defense has partnered with JWF Defense Systems for the assembly of Mack’s 6×6 Lakota armored vehicle system, which will come in five variants.

Under the agreement, JWF Defense Systems will also manufacture armored hulls for the vehicles.

“We look forward to working with JWF Defense Systems on the assembly of these vehicle solutions along with production of their armored hulls,” said Ryan Werling, president of Mack Defense, a member of the Volvo Group. “JWF Defense has a long tradition of supporting the U.S. Department of Defense, and we are excited to have them as part of our team.

“In addition to the partnership for the Lakota system, we also believe there is an opportunity for JWF to participate in the assembly of other armored vehicle programs that we are pursuing around the globe.”
